In December 2010 have been mailed worldwide 46.2 million bottles, down from the same month in 2009 (-5.2%) and an increase over the same month in 2006, a period in which they were recorded exports amounted to 44.2 million bottles.
During the twelve months of 2010, sales of Champagne have reached 319.5 million bottles, representing a sales volume increase of +8.9% on the year 2009 and a decrease 0.7% over 2006 (321.8 million bottles).
In France, sales are increasing in volume by 2.3% (or 185 million bottles), the second highest peak in sales during the years after 2007 (187.9 million acres).
Exports increased by 19.5%, equivalent to 134.5 million bottles (compared with 112.6 million bottles in 2009), this increase will be in:
- +14.1%
EU - Countries third +28.7%
However, these figures are still below the 2006 level, a period in which they were exported 140.7 million bottles. The market share in export volume in 2010 stood at 42.1% of total Champagne bottles processed, compared with 38.4% in 2009.
The Vignerons are consolidating their position in foreign markets so that, for example, in the EU have had an increase in sales volume by 12.5% \u200b\u200band 22.8% in third countries, reaching an annual consumption of 6 , 3 million bottles (+15.6% compared to 2009). The Maison
exports have increased by 19.7% of exports (+13.5% and +29.7% in the EU in third countries) with 116 million bottles. Cooperatives have shipped 12.2 million bottles outside France (+19.6%), of which 8.7 million to the EU (+19.7%) and 3.5 million bottles in third countries ( +19.1%).
Having read the above analysis we infer that the situation of the Champagne market is going to stabilize. However, the data presented do not consider a fundamental fact in order to understand whether the situation of the global economic crisis has had an improvement. We must not, therefore, restored by focusing our attention only on volumes. In fact, this important fact of which I speak is the average selling price of all bottles of Champagne executed in 2010. According to data from CIVC there was a decline in the price mix of 2% in the European and an increase ranging between 2% and 4% in Third Countries.
Based on the above, I leave to you the views of the case.
Sales Total (after tax) is more than 4 billion euros.
